Ruth Buscombe joins Sauber F1 Team

13 September 2016

Former Ferrari and Haas F1 Team strategist Ruth Buscombe has joined the Sauber F1 Team as its new strategy engineer, starting from the Malaysian Grand Prix. She joins Sauber from the Haas F1 Team where she held the position of strategy engineer before leaving the team in June 2016.

She is the most recent recruit of Sauber since the team was taken over by Longbow Finance in July, following the team’s founder Peter Sauber selling his shares to the investment group in order to ensure the future of the team.

Haas F1 Team’s early season form which produced a sixth position finish in Australia was thanks to the team’s strategy which Buscombe was involved with.

Before her time at Haas, Buscombe worked at Scuderia Ferrari since graduating from university in 2012, initially as a simulation development engineer developing and implementing algorithms and eventually became a race strategist in March 2013.
