Callaway confirms factory entry in PWC

21 November 2017

Callaway Competition has announced that it will mount a full Pirelli World Challenge campaign in 2018, with a pair of GT3-spec Corvette C7 GT3Rs.

The cars will be raced under the Callaway Competition USA flag, and will mark the team’s North American debut after winning the ADAC GT Masters championship in Germany. The team will run the two car squad with factory backing for the 2018 season, before moving to a customer racing support programme in 2019 to avoid racing against its customers.

“Joining the Pirelli World Challenge has been a long term objective for Callaway Competition,” said Reeves Callaway, the company’s founder. “Now the field is a roll-call of the most capable sports cars from every country. To do well here, you must beat the best in the world. What better way to showcase our iconic American car?”

The Callaway Competition USA Corvette C7 GT3-R will be revealed at the Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis in December.

“We’re incredibly proud to bring the Corvette C7 GT3-R to competition on American soil,” added Callaway. “It is going to be a very competitive season, and we are looking forward to getting started.”
