Rebellion confirms LMP1 return
After ending the 2017 season with the title of LMP2 World Champion, the Rebellion Racing team is set to return to the top tier of the World Endurance Championship next season.
Two cars will be fielded by the Swiss team, which will be driven by Bruno Senna and Mathias Beche as well as current LMP1 drivers Neel Jani and Andre Lotterer. In addition American Gustavo Menezes will be part of the crew for the 2018-19 super season, while Thomas Laurent will bring his talents to LMP1 riding on the momentum of a great season with Jackie Chan DC Racing. The cars which will mount the campaign will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. They are likely to have been designed and built by the French company ORECA, which produced the teams LMP1 entrant in 2014-16.
“I am very happy to be in LMP1 with Rebellion Racing for the 2018-2019 FIA WEC Super season,” said Bruno Senna. “The many changes in the rules will be a huge challenge, but we have drivers and a quality team to deal with them. We will push very hard for these crucial Le Mans wins!”
