Ginetta upgrades G55 GT4

19 January 2017

Fresh from its fifth Dubai 24 hour class win in six years, Ginetta has unveiled the new-for-2017 upgrades to the Ginetta G55 GT4. These will further enhance performance and reliability while reducing the difference in lap times between Pro and Am drivers.

Eligible for entry in GT4 competition around the world, the G55 GT4 is one of the strongest GT4 cars on the market. The 2017 upgrades see an additional 33 bhp will be produced by an engine power upgrade and high power side exist exhaust system.

Crucially, the lap time delta between amateur and pro drivers will be reduced by the introduction of electronic traction control and an ABS anti-lock braking system.  In addition, the switch from 10” front and 11” rear tyres saw lap times improve during testing. Whilst the introduction of centre locking wheel nuts means pit stop times will be shortened.

The G55 is Ginetta’s  commitment to the ongoing development which has seen the marque win the British GT4 class six times in the nine years since the class was created in 2008.

A dominant force in international endurance, highlights of the past 12 months include making history in Pirelli World Challenge with rising star Parker Chase taking GTS Rookie of the Year, as well as a first and third in class on its Motul Sepang 12 Hours debut.
