Integral Powertrain (IP), manufacturers of world-class, record-breaking electric motors and inverters, has entered into a technical partnership with manufacturer Penske Autosport for season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
Integral Powertrain’s e-Drive divisions have worked with Penske Autosport, which supplies powertrains for the Geox Dragon Formula E Team, on its PENSKE EV-4 car.
IP will now be tasked with supporting the development of the Team’s custom high-performance electric powertrain of its PENSKE EV-4 car. The car is a high-power, light-weight, highly efficient electric propulsion system.
“Nicolas Mauduit, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Penske Autosport, commented: “As an independent manufacturer, we work with IP in order to develop the best components for our race cars. We are very pleased with the results of the work performed in collaboration with Integral Powertrain on our PENSKE EV-4 electric propulsion system.”
Arnaud Martin, Chief Engineer Motorsport for Integral Powertrain, said of the partnership: “We are proud to be involved in the Penske Autosport Formula E project for Season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
“Penske Autosport is the only remaining privately owned and run Formula E manufacturers. This partnership allows the Penske Autosport to harness the best from Integral Powertrain’s world-leading electric propulsion technology. Our Season 6 partnership with Penske Autosport will give us a technical platform to continuously develop our high end, high-efficiency drive systems in the future. ”
Having been involved with the motorsport sector, in particular, electrified motorsport for the past five years, IP is well-positioned to deliver, and support the development of high-performance electrification components tailored to the needs of race teams and manufacturers developing leading-edge electric components of powertrains.
